Expired Domains Policy

If a domain name is not renewed by its expiry date, it will cease to operate and will be considered expired. A domain may expire if we are unable to take payment using any method stored on your customer account, or if you do not manually renew it. It is your responsibility to ensure that the email address on your customer account is accurate and able to receive renewal reminders. The email address used to register the domain will also be used by the UK registry to send renewal reminders directly.

Three (3) calendar days after the expiry date, we may, at our sole discretion:
- renew the domain name; or
- park the domain name on different name servers from those set by you.

After a domain has expired, you have up to 30 days to contact us (the registrar) to retrieve and renew the domain at the registry (where applicable). Renewal will be charged at the rate shown on our domain pricing page.

Once we receive the renewal fee within the 30-day period, we will renew the domain name and you will retain ownership. We will restore the domain to your control panel as soon as reasonably practicable.

If we do not receive the renewal fee within the initial 30-day period, we may, at our discretion, terminate the agreement and change ownership of the domain. However, you may still have the opportunity to renew the domain for a further 45 days after the initial 30‑day period, subject to registry rules and availability.

We will always endeavour to contact the registrant using all available methods to obtain explicit consent before any ownership details are changed. It is therefore important that your contact information is accurate and up to date. All correspondence will be recorded in the email history section of your client area. While we will always attempt to renew domain names on behalf of our customers, we cannot guarantee that all renewal attempts will be successful. It remains the registrant’s responsibility to check the WHOIS database to confirm that a domain has been renewed.

IMPORTANT: As an additional safeguard for UK domains, the registry will send renewal reminders directly to the registrant 30 days before expiry, 7 days before expiry, and again once the domain has expired.
